Hartmut Bauer (singer)

Hartmut Bauer (born February 25, 1939 in Kassel ; † February 27, 2018 ) was a German opera singer ( bass ).

Life

Bauer studied at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts . His first engagement took him to the Stadttheater Augsburg in 1965 . In 1968 he moved to the Landestheater Coburg ; In 1970, Bauer was appointed to succeed Kurt Moll as the first bass player at the Wuppertal Opera House . He made his debut at the Bayreuth Festival in 1973 in the role of Fafner in the Nibelungenring , and in the two following years he sang Hans Schwarz in Richard Wagner's Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg . Since 1990 he has been a soloist at the Eutin Festival .

Retired Bauer lived in Eutin .
