Hartmut Grimm
Hartmut Grimm (born March 13, 1953 in Schwaan ; † October 1, 2017 ) was a German musicologist .
Hartmut Grimm received his doctorate in 1982 from the Humboldt University in Berlin . From 1992 he worked as a professor for music history and music aesthetics at the "Hanns Eisler" University of Music in Berlin . Since 2013 he has also belonged to the music department of the Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics in Frankfurt a. M. at.
Grimm was a specialist in musical aesthetics , but was also particularly interested in musical practice. He initiated numerous research projects at the Frankfurt Institute. His main projects included the publication of the lexicon: Writings on music and a project to research the influences of facial expressions and gestures when making music on the perception of structure and expressivity as well as aesthetic judgment.
