Hartmut Lenhard

Hartmut Lenhard (* 1947 in Hagen ) is a German Protestant religious educator .

Lenhard studied Protestant theology and German in Bochum, Tübingen and Bonn. With studies on the development of ecclesiology in the free Protestant communities in Germany , he received his doctorate in 1976 at the University of Bonn . He completed his legal clerkship in Bielefeld in 1976/77. Then he was a teacher at the Bielefeld Gymnasium am Waldhof . In 1982 he became head of Protestant religion at the Detmold study seminar . From 1994 until his retirement in 2012 he was the leading director of the Paderborn study seminar. He was also a long-time member of the EKD Chamber for Education, Upbringing, Children and Youth and a member of the EKD's specialist commission for reforming theology studies. He is co-editor of the journal Religion 5–10 published by Friedrich Verlag .
