Hartmut Schwabe (born December 1, 1943 in Strelno ) is a former German sprinter who competed for the GDR . He specialized in the 400-meter run .

In 1967 he started at the European Indoor Games in Prague in the 4 x 300 meter relay.

At the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City , he was eliminated in the run-up to the 4-by-400-meter relay .

In 1965 he was GDR champion over 400 m and with SC Dynamo Berlin 1965 and 1969 GDR champion in the 4 x 400 meter relay . He set his personal best of 46.6 s in 1964.
