Hartmuth Malorny (born May 10, 1959 in Wuppertal ) is a German Beat writer.

Having grown up in Kamp-Lintfort on the Lower Rhine , Malorny tried his hand at various professions after completing school, some of which also play an essential role in his novels. He made his novel debut in 1972 with his brother. In 1974 he got a permanent job with the Federal Railroad. From 1978 followed positions as carpet laying ( Noch ein Bier, Harry ), caretaker in the red light district, unskilled workers in track construction, security posts , representatives, security guard and other jobs. In 1981 he moved to Dortmund , where he worked as a tram driver from 1989 and later as a special cleaner. Several months in France, Italy and Thailand.

Malorny discovered Charles Bukowski for himself and designed the German version of his drama and lower class dramas. In addition, Malorny wrote numerous essays and poems, again and again about his idol Johnny Cash .
