Hartschier (also Hatschier , ground from the Italian Arciere = archer) is the name of a military type of service.

The Hartschiere were in various princes and electoral principalities , including Kurköln , Bavaria and Austria bodyguard regiments , later exclusively as ceremonial house troops without any actual military task. With the fall of the principalities and monarchies by 1918 at the latest, these court guards were also abolished.

Junkersrang ( "Officer A d spirant first class" ) ( sic ) owned the

  • 100 hard sheers. These ranked between the sergeants and sub-lieutenants of the army.

The company staff also included two doctors , a quartermaster (captain), a fourier (supply sergeant, sub-lieutenant) and an auditor ( court officer , first class regimental auditor with the Hartschieren as a regimental auditor , roughly the rank of captain).
