Coordinates: 33 ° 4 ′ S , 115 ° 53 ′ E The Shire of Harvey is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of Western Australia . The area is 1728 km² and has about 27,000 inhabitants (2016).
Harvey is located on the Australian west coast northeast of Bunbury about 125 kilometers south of the capital Perth . The seat of the Shire Council is in the city of Harvey , where about 2750 inhabitants live (2016).

The Harvey Council has 13 members. They are elected by all residents of the Shire. Harvey is not divided into districts. The chairman of the council (Shire President) is also recruited from among the councilors.
