Hasan Ozdemir

Hasan Özdemir (born July 1, 1963 in Sorgun , Turkey ) is a German-speaking poet , playwright and storyteller.

The Turkish-born author came to Germany as a teenager and has lived in Ludwigshafen am Rhein since 1979 . Özdemir studied German philology , philosophy and German as a foreign language philology at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg .

The author of numerous books of poetry received in 1994 a grant from the Stuttgart writers house and 2002 the Palatinate - Literature - Award . His poems have already been translated into English, French, Polish and, as part of the Parma / Florence poetry festival, also into Italian. Since 2010 he has been the initiator of the "Freinsheim Literary Reading".
