Hasan Erbil

Hasan Erbil (born March 2, 1952 in Yüreğil / Serinhisar ) is a Turkish lawyer who, between 2011 and 2015, was prosecutor general at the Court of Cassation of the Republic of Turkey .

Life

After graduating from school in 1969, Erbil studied law at Ankara University . He then did his military service as a short-term soldier in Isparta . In the following years he worked in various districts in the judicial service, most recently at the Erzurum Public Prosecutor's Office .

On May 8, 2001 he was elected a member of the Court of Cassation, where he took over the post of Attorney General on May 21, 2011. He held this position until May 18, 2015, when he was succeeded by Mehmet Akarca , previously President of the 14th Chamber of the Court of Cassation. He officially took up the post of chief public prosecutor on May 21, 2015.
