Hasanpur is a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh .

Hasanpur lies in the north Indian plain 8 km east of the course of the river Ganges . The city is located in the Amroha District - 50 km west of Moradabad and 120 km east of the federal capital New Delhi .

The national highway NH 24 ( Ghaziabad - Moradabad ) runs 13 km north of Hasanpur.

The city is named after Hasan Khan , who founded Hasanpur in 1634 AD. As a city, Hasanpur has the status of Nagar Palika Parishad . The city is divided into 25 wards . At the 2011 census, Hasanpur had 61,243 inhabitants.
