Haschbach am Glan is part of the Henschtal municipality in the Kusel district . Despite the name, the place is not directly on the Glan , but on the Henschbach , a glossy river; the additional designation came about to distinguish it from the community of Haschbach am Remigiusberg, also located in the district of Kusel . The place was called in 1589 "Haspach" and in 1712 "Aspach". At that time it was under the Münchweiler Valley , a fiefdom of the Hornbach monastery. In the course of the Rhineland-Palatinate administrative reform, Haschbach was merged with the neighboring town of Trahweiler to form the new municipality of Henschtal.
