Haschbach am Remigiusberg is a municipality in the Kusel district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the community of Kusel-Altenglan .
geography
Haschbach is located at the foot of the Remigiusberg in the West Palatinate . The Glan flows to the east .
history
The place was first mentioned in 1149 as Habbach .
In 1959 the place name was officially extended to Haschbach am Remigiusberg after a request from the local council by the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of the Interior in order to avoid confusion with the nearby Haschbach am Glan .

Municipal council
The council in Haschbach am Remigiusberg consists of twelve council members, who in the local elections on May 26, 2019 in a majority vote were elected, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Klaus Schubinski became the local mayor of Haschbach am Remigiusberg on July 11, 2014. In the direct election on May 26, 2019, he was confirmed in his office for a further five years with a share of the vote of 93.35%.
Schubinski's predecessor was Willi Daub.

Culture and sights
Haschbach is seen as the cultural center of the Remigiusland. Worth mentioning are the Remigiusberg , on which the provost church is located, and the ruins of the Michelsburg .
Economy and Infrastructure
The A 62 runs to the southwest . To the north of the nearby district town of Kusel there is a train station on the Landstuhl – Kusel railway line as well as in Theisbergstegen .
Sons and daughters of the church
- Count Frederick I of Veldenz († 1327), resided on the Michelsburg and is Propsteikirche St. Remigius buried
