Dunzweiler is a municipality in the Kusel district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the community of Upper Glantal .

geography

The place is in the Kuseler Musikantenland on the border with Saarland . In the northwest there is Breitenbach , in the east Schönenberg-Kübelberg with its district Schmittweiler , in the southeast Waldmohr and to the west lies Lautenbach (Ottweiler) .

history

Dunzweiler was first mentioned in a document in 1247. In the 17th and 18th centuries it belonged to the Waldmohr mayor in the Principality of Pfalz-Zweibrücken .

The local council in Dunzweiler consists of 12 council members, who were elected in a personalized proportional representation in the local elections on May 26, 2019 , and the honorary local mayor as chairman.

There is a junction to the A 6 to the south-east . In Homburg there is a train station on the Mannheim – Saarbrücken railway .
