Glanbrücken is a municipality in the Kusel district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Lauterecken-Wolfstein association.
geography
The place is on the Glan in the West Palatinate . It is divided into the districts of Hachenbach south of the Glans and Niedereisenbach north of it. Offenbach-Hundheim is in the northeast and Sankt Julian in the southwest .
history
Hachenbach was first mentioned in a document in 1150. It belonged to the county of Veldenz , later to Pfalz-Zweibrücken and after the French Revolution to Bavaria .
Niedereisenbach was first mentioned in 1336 as Ysenbach . Until the French Revolution, the place belonged to the barons of Kellenbach . In 1816 the place came to the Principality of Lichtenberg , a newly created exclave of the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld and from 1826 of the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha . With this he fell to Prussia in 1834 , which created the St. Wendel district from this area . After the separation of the main part to the newly created Saar area , the remaining district of Sankt Wendel-Baumholder was created in 1920 , to which the place belonged until 1937, when it was incorporated into the Birkenfeld district.
On June 7, 1969, the two communities of Hachenbach (185 inhabitants at the time) and Niedereisenbach (349 inhabitants) became the new community of Glanbrücken in the Kusel district.

Municipal council
The council in Glanbrücken consists of eight council members, who in the local elections on May 26, 2019 in a majority vote were elected, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Guido Hablitz became the local mayor of Glanbrücken on February 9, 2017. In the direct election on May 26, 2019, he was confirmed in office for a further five years with 91.37% of the vote. His predecessor Ralf Jöckel died surprisingly in November 2016 after 22 years in office.

Economy and Infrastructure
The federal highway 420 runs through the village . From 1904 to 1985 the two districts were connected to the Glantalbahn via the Niedereisenbach-Hachenbach train station . In Lauterecken there is a station of the Lautertalbahn .
