Nerzweiler is a municipality in the Kusel district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Lauterecken-Wolfstein association.

geography

Nerzweiler is located in the Eßweiler Valley in the North Palatinate Bergland . To the north is Offenbach-Hundheim , east Aschbach and south is Hinzweiler .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1350 as Nertzwilre . The Eßweiler valley belonged to the Electoral Palatinate but was given as a fief to the Counts of Veldenz . In Nerzweiler was the seat of the Nerzweiler office, which included the places in the valley. In 1444 Nerzweiler came to Pfalz-Zweibrücken , 1755 to the Rhine Counts .
