Abersfeld is a district of the municipality of Schonungen in the Lower Franconian district of Schweinfurt and a branch of the parish of Marktsteinach .

Geographical location

Abersfeld is located in the Schweinfurt Rhön , six kilometers northeast of Schonungen and twelve kilometers northeast of Schweinfurt . The Abersfelder Mühlbach flows through the village .

history

Abersfeld was first mentioned in writing in 788 in a deed of gift with which two nobles transferred parts of their property in Abersfeld to the Fulda monastery .

On May 1, 1978 Abersfeld was incorporated into the community of Schonungen together with its Rednershof district.

Since 2009, the site has had a youth tent site that is directly adjacent to the DJK's sports grounds and offers space for up to 120 people to camp.
