Börsborn is a municipality in the Kusel district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the community of Upper Glantal .

geography

The 320 m high village of Börsborn is three kilometers away from Ohmbachsee in the West Palatinate .

history

The first documentary mention comes from the year 1383 as Berßborn . From 1488 to 1793 the place belonged to what is known as the Münchweiler Tal estate of the Counts von der Leyen .

Uwe Bier (Voters' Association Börsborn e.V.) became local mayor of Börsborn on June 27, 2019. In the direct election on May 26, 2019, he was elected for five years with 76.64% of the vote.

Franz Sommer (also a voter association) was Uwe Bier's predecessor and was the local mayor from 1994 to 2019.

Culture and sights

The more than 500 year old Muhleiche and the bell tower in the center of the village, which was donated at the instigation of Countess Marianne von der Leyen in 1788/89, are the symbols of the village.
