Aschbach is a municipality in the Kusel district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the Lauterecken-Wolfstein association.

The place is north of the Königsberg in the North Palatinate Uplands .

history

Aschbach was first mentioned in a document in 1250. In the 14th century, the two villages of Oberaschbach and Unteraschbach belonged to the Nerzweiler office . Oberaschbach went under in the next centuries, so that only one Aschbach in 1755 went from Zweibrücken to the Rhine Count Karl Walram von Grumbach. Before that, the Wild and Rhine Counts of Kyrburg ruled here and, from 1595, the Dukes of Palatinate-Zweibrücken .
