Körborn is a municipality in the Kusel district in Rhineland-Palatinate . It belongs to the community of Kusel-Altenglan .

history

Körborn was first mentioned in 1270 as Cuberin . Together with Ruthweiler and Thallichtenberg , it belonged to Lichtenberg Castle for a long time .

politics

Municipal council

The council in Körborn consists of eight council members, who in the local elections on May 26, 2019 in a majority vote were elected, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

mayor

Marcel Müller became local mayor of Körborn on November 25, 2019 through the unanimous election of the local council.

Since there were no applicants for the direct election on May 26, 2019, the new election was up to the council in the summer of that year. At its constituent meeting in June 2019, the latter decided in favor of Hartmut Krökel, who, however, resigned his office on August 31, 2019 for personal reasons. Krökel's predecessor was Reiner Schultheiss.

From 1945 to 1960 the KPD member Rudolf Dick was mayor. In 1969, DKP member Werner Jung was elected mayor.
