The place is located in the North Palatinate mountains . Einöllen is in the northwest , Hefersweiler in the northeast , Niederkirchen in the southwest and Morbach, which belongs to Niederkirchen , to the south .

history

Relsberg was first mentioned in a document in 1432/1462. It belonged to the Reipoltskirchen rule .

Municipal council

The council in Relsberg consists of six council members, who in the local elections on May 26, 2019 in a majority vote were elected, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Jürgen Werner became mayor of Relsberg in 2014. Since there was no candidate for the direct election on May 26, 2019, the upcoming election of the mayor was carried out by the council in accordance with the municipal regulations. On July 3, 2019, he confirmed Jürgen Werner for another five years in his office.

Klaus Schlemmer was the local mayor until 2014.
