Location of Hachenbach in Rhineland-Palatinate

Hachenbach is the smaller of two districts of the local community Glanbrücken in the Kusel district in Rhineland-Palatinate . Until 1969 it was an independent community.

location

Hachenbach is located in the North Palatinate Uplands in the southern municipality.

history

In the Middle Ages and early modern times, the community was part of the Eßweiler Tal complex . Until the end of the 18th century, Hachenbach belonged to Pfalz-Zweibrücken .

From 1798 to 1814, when the Palatinate was part of the French Republic (until 1804) and then part of the Napoleonic Empire , the place was incorporated into the canton of Lauterecken and was subordinate to the Mairie Hundheim . In 1815 the community had a total of 140 inhabitants. In the same year, Austria was struck. Just one year later, the place changed to the Kingdom of Bavaria . From 1818 to 1862, Hagenbach am Glan - as the place name was at the time - was part of the Kusel Land Commissioner , which was then converted into a district office.

In 1939 the place was incorporated into the Kusel district. After the Second World War , Hachenbach became part of the then newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate within the French occupation zone . In the course of the first Rhineland-Palatinate administrative reform , the place, which then had 185 inhabitants, was merged with the neighboring Niedereisenbach on June 7, 1969 to form the new local community Glanbrücken .
