Hundheim is the smaller of two districts of the Offenbach-Hundheim community in the Kusel district in Rhineland-Palatinate . Until 1969 it was an independent community.

location

Hundheim is located in the North Palatinate Uplands in the southern municipality. The Talbach runs through the settlement area and then flows into the Glan from the right .

history

Hundheim belonged to the Rhine county until the end of the 18th century .

From 1798 to 1814, when the Palatinate part of the French Republic (until 1804) and then part of the Napoleonic Empire , was the place was in Canton Lauterecken incorporated and was the seat of a Mairie , in addition Aschbach , Gumbsweiler , Hachen Bach , Hinzweiler and Nerzweiler included . Culture

Infrastructure

In 1904, the Offenbach-Hundheim station on the Glantalbahn was built in neighboring Offenbach . Passenger traffic ended in 1985, and freight traffic also came to a standstill a few years later. Landesstraße 372 also runs through Hundheim .
