The Talbach is a 13.8 km long, right or southern tributary of the Glans in the North Palatinate Bergland ( Rhineland-Palatinate ).

The Talbach rises in the district of Kaiserslautern about 800 m northeast of Kollweiler at an altitude of 393 m above sea level. NHN . The source is located immediately to the west of the state road 372. From here the stream flows mainly in northerly directions. He happens in Kusel local churches Eßweiler , Oberweiler im Tal , Hinzweiler , Nerzweiler and Hundheim before in Offenbach right side to 169 m in height Glan flows .
On its 13.8 km long path, the Talbach overcomes a height difference of 224 m, which corresponds to an average bed gradient of 16.2 ‰. Its 34 km² catchment area is drained to the North Sea via Glan, Nahe and Rhine .
The local community Eßweiler leads the Talbach as an inclined left wave beam in its coat of arms .

Numerous tributaries flow to the Talbach, some of which are quite short. The longest are the 5.0 km long Jettenbach near Eßweiler and the 4.1 km long Breitenbach southeast of Eßweiler.

The Talbach is one of the coarse material rich, silicate low mountain range brooks. The water structure is predominantly clear to strong, in the local areas it has changed very much to completely. Individual sections, especially in the upper reaches, show only a moderate change in structure. The water quality is classified as unpolluted in the upper reaches up to the confluence of the stream from the Königsbergerhof (quality class I), in the middle reaches up to above Nerzweiler as slightly polluted (quality classes I-II) and in the lower reaches as moderately polluted (quality class II) (status 2005) .
