Lautenbach is the smallest district in terms of area of Ottweiler in the Neunkirchen district in Saarland . Until the end of 1973 Lautenbach was an independent municipality .

Lautenbach is on the border with Rhineland-Palatinate near Breitenbach (Palatinate) . Other neighboring communities in Rhineland-Palatinate are Waldmohr and Dunzweiler . In the Saarland, the place borders on Neunkirchen (Saar) with the Münchwies district and Fürth in the Ostertal , which is also a district of Ottweiler.
history
Lautenbach was first mentioned in a document in 1310. In the 15th century Fürth , Dörrenbach and Lautenbach belonged to the imperial fiefdom of Burg Kirkel and then came to Nassau-Saarbrücken through "barter and other contracts" .
On January 1, 1974, the Lautenbach community was incorporated into the city of Ottweiler.
