Haselbach is located northeast of Rückersdorf near the border between Saxony and Thuringia and south of Ronneburg in an arable area with erosion channels and streams. The uranium mining area of SDAG Wismut was nearby .

The village was first mentioned on June 5, 1354. 150 inhabitants settle the village, which has always been characterized by agriculture.
