ι Aurigae ( Iota Aurigae , short ι Aur ) is a star in the constellation Auriga with a distance of about 500 light years . It has an apparent brightness of 2.7  mag and belongs to the spectral class K3.

The star bears the historical proper names Hassaleh or Kabdhilinan , from arab. " Ankle bone of the rein holder" (the talus , anatomical name talus , is a foot bone).
