Hassan Glaoui

Hassan Glaoui (born December 23, 1923 in Marrakech ; died June 21, 2018 ) was a Moroccan painter .

Life

Hassan Glaoui's parents were Lalla Zineb el Mokri, a daughter of Mohammed el Mokri , and Tihami al-Glawi, who, like all the Pashas of Marrakech, from the Glaoui family, participated in the earnings of the prostitutes of Marrakech.

Hassan Glaoui studied at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris and returned to Morocco in 1965. Hassan Glaoui made oil paintings and gouaches , which are sold on the international art market.

Hassan Glaoui was married to Evelyne Kahil and Christine Legendre.

Due to the prohibition of images of living beings in Islam , painters of figurative representations are rare in the Magreb .
