Hastelloy B
Type | Material number | EN short name |
---|---|---|
Hastelloy B | 2.4617 | NiMo28 |
Hastelloy B-2 | 2.4617 | NiMo28 |
Hastelloy B-3 | 2.4600 | NiMo29Cr |
The Hastelloy-B alloys belong to the group of highly corrosion-resistant nickel-molybdenum alloys. Hastelloy B contains 26 to 30% molybdenum .
These materials are characterized by their very good resistance in reducing media, e.g. B. in hydrochloric acid in the entire concentration and temperature range.

Hastelloy C
Hastelloy C was originally developed as a material for drive nozzles in jet engines. The very good temperature resistance also led to its use in other areas of technology. These nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys are characterized by their excellent resistance in oxidizing and reducing media, even at elevated temperatures. The alloy CX2M [Hastelloy C-22] offers good resistance to wet media, e.g. B. sulfuric acid , phosphoric acid , nitric acid , chlorine gas , acid mixtures of sulfuric acid and oxidizing acids with chloride ions. A special feature of this alloy is its high resistance to crevice, pitting and stress corrosion cracking at elevated temperatures under oxidizing and reducing conditions.
Hastelloy C-276
Hastelloy C-276 is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloy with very good corrosion resistance.
Hastelloy G.
Hastelloy G is an alloy (G-30) that is particularly resistant to corrosion by phosphoric acid and is therefore well suited for use in fertilizer production plants.
Hastelloy X
Hastelloy X is an alloy made from molybdenum, chromium, iron and other elements. It is primarily used in the manufacture of melting furnaces because it is extremely heat-resistant. It is easy to weld.
use
Hastelloy is frequently used, for example, in reactors, pipelines and valves in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries or in pressure vessels in nuclear power plants . In addition to other nickel-based alloys, there are alternatives in chemical plant construction as well as steel or GRP components that have a chemically resistant lining, e.g. B. from perfluoroalkoxylalkane (PFA) are provided.
