Haynes International Inc. is the name of a US company based in Kokomo ( Indiana ) that produces , among other things, alloys that are highly resistant to corrosion .
history
The company was founded in 1912 by Elwood Haynes under the name Haynes Stellite Works in Kokomo, Indiana . In the late 1880s, Haynes experimented with various alloys to create a corrosion-resistant material. After developing various alloys based on nickel and chromium , which he patented, he founded a foundry in 1912. In 1920 the company was sold to Union Carbide . Today Haynes International Inc. is listed on NASDAQ under the symbol HAYN .
