Hastomo Arbi
Hastomo Arbi (born August 5, 1958 in Kudus , formerly known as Ang Tjong Hauw ) is a former Indonesian badminton player . He won the 1984 Thomas Cup with the Indonesian team , the world championship for men's teams . Heryanto Arbi and Eddy Hartono , both also successful in badminton, are his brothers.
Career
In 1984 Hastomo Arbi was instrumental in winning the Thomas Cup . In the final against China he was preferred to Hadiyanto , who had been used in the preliminary rounds. Arbi justified the trust placed in him and defeated the world championship third from 1983 and later world champion Han Jian with 14:17, 15: 6 and 15: 8.
In the individual disciplines Hastomo Arbi was successful at the Southeast Asian Games in 1979, where he won the men's individual event .
