Hatchet is an American thrash metal band from San Francisco , California that was formed in 2006.

history

The band was founded in 2005 by guitarist Julz Ramos and drummer Dave "Slave" Wert. Weekly rehearsals followed in which they could develop the first songs. A short time later guitarist Sterling "McFly" Bailey joined the cast. After a few more rehearsals, Marcus “Tormentor” Kirchen joined the band as the singer. Although the band had not yet found a suitable bass player, they already played their first concerts all over California. Church's long-time friend Lou "Sheepdog" Bianco later joined the band as bassist. With the band now complete, the group played further gigs in the San Francisco Bay Area .

After two months it was decided to part with Bianco again, so that in spring 2007, Dan “Destroyer” Voigt joined the group as a new bass player. Shortly thereafter, the band went into the studio to record a new song called Storm the Gates , which was included on the compilation Thrash Metal Warriors by Katon W. de Pena ( Hirax ). In September 2007 the band signed a contract with Metal Blade Records . The band released their debut album Awaiting Evil on April 18, 2008 on this label. In 2013 the album Dawn of the End was released via The End Records .

style

The band plays classic Thrash Metal, comparable to the early works of Metallica and Slayer .
