Hatton Cross is a London Underground station in the London Borough of Hillingdon . It is on the border of the Travelcard tariff zones 5 and 6, on the Great South West Road ( A30 ). In 2013, 3.08 million passengers used this station served by the Piccadilly Line . It opens up the aircraft yard on the east side of London Heathrow Airport and an extensive industrial park. A bus station is attached to the station .

The station opened on July 19, 1975, as part of the first phase of the extension from Hounslow West to Heathrow Airport. Hatton Cross was the terminus for almost two and a half years until the extension to Terminals 2 & 3 of the airport went into operation on December 16, 1977 . The single-track loop via Terminal 4 followed on April 12, 1986 . As a result, almost all trains ran over the loop until they were temporarily closed on January 7, 2005. This was necessary to enable the construction of a branch structure in the direction of the new Terminal 5 . On September 17, 2006, the loop was put back into operation. Since the opening of the station under Terminal 5 on March 27, 2008, every second train has been using the loop, the other half going directly to the new terminus.
