Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 is an underground station of the London Underground in the London Borough of Hillingdon . It is served by the Piccadilly Line , belongs to tariff zone 6 and connects the central area of Heathrow Airport with Terminals 2 and 3. In 2016, 7.73 million passengers used the station. The Heathrow Express and Heathrow Connect airport stations are in the immediate vicinity , but this is differently called Heathrow Central .

Queen Elizabeth II officially opened the station and with it the last phase of the extension to the airport on December 16, 1977. At the beginning the station name was Heathrow Central , which was changed on September 3, 1983 to Heathrow Central Terminals 1, 2, 3 . Another renaming followed on August 12, 1986, on the day the station opened under Terminal 4 . From now on, all trains ran on the single-track loop that runs from Hatton Cross via Terminal 4 and Terminals 1, 2 and 3 back to Hatton Cross.

The loop was temporarily shut down from January 7, 2005 to September 17, 2006 in order to enable the construction of a branch structure in the direction of the new Terminal 5 station . Since it opened on March 27, 2008, every second train has gone directly there, while the others continue to use the loop. Terminal 1 of the airport was closed in June 2015 to make way for the expansion of Terminal 2. The station was given the current name Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 on January 2, 2016 .
