Heathrow Central train station
The Heathrow Central Station is an underground airport station in London district London Borough of Hillingdon . It is located under the central terminals 2 and 3 of Heathrow Airport and is in tariff zone 6. There is a pedestrian connection to Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 of London Underground and the airport bus station .
The station opened on June 23, 1998, and has since been served by trains on the Heathrow Express airport shuttle from Paddington . The Heathrow Connect has also been operating here since June 13, 2005 . The branch line to Terminal 5 was opened on March 27, 2008 . Since June 8, 2010, passengers on the Heathrow Express to Terminal 4 at Heathrow Central station have to transfer to a shuttle train.
In May 2018, Heathrow Express will transfer the shuttle connection to Terminal 4 to the railway company TfL Rail , and Heathrow Connect will also be replaced. This agreement is part of Crossrail's phased rollout , which will be completed in December 2019 when the Elizabeth Line is fully operational.
