Proposed connection from the west

The Heathrow Terminal 5 station is an underground airport station for railway and subway in London's City district London Borough of Hillingdon . It is located under Terminal 5 of Heathrow Airport and belongs to tariff zone 6. In 2016, 4.45 million underground passengers used the station (numbers for the railroad are not available).

The six-track station with three platforms opened on March 27, 2008. Its design was created by the architects HOK International , in collaboration with Rogers, Stirk, Harbor & Partners . Although it lies below the surface of the earth, laminated panels made of transparent ETFE polymer ensure that natural daylight can shine on both ends of the platforms. The station is the terminus of the Piccadilly Line of the London Underground and one of two terminus of the Heathrow Express airport shuttle from Paddington Station in central London. Every second metro train goes here, the other half uses the single-track loop via Terminal 4 . There are currently no plans to establish a direct rail link between Terminals 4 and 5.

In the long term , Network Rail is planning the construction of another platform at Heathrow Terminal 5 station, which will serve traffic on a planned second feeder route. It should lead to Langley station on the Great Western Main Line and thereby enable a direct connection to Slough and Reading .
