Haujobb is a German music group whose pieces cover a broad spectrum of electronic music . This ranges from electro to IDM to techno .
history
Haujobb was founded in Bielefeld in 1993 and originally consisted of three people: Dejan Samardzik (sound, programming), Björn Jünemann (sampler, programming, concept) and Daniel Myer (vocals, sound, programming). After the second album Freeze Frame Reality was released in 1995 , in which Jünemann's brother Sven was also involved as a guitarist, the Jünemann brothers left the band and founded their own project called Standeg . In the early days, Haujobb were compared to Skinny Puppy because of their complex sound structures . They left this comparison behind with their second album Freeze Frame Reality , but at the latest with their third album Solutions for a Small Planet .
The band name "Haujobb" is based on a mistranslation of the word skinjob from the film Blade Runner . "Skin job" ("skin job") is a derogatory term for a "replicant" (artificial person).
Daniel Myer is active in a number of side projects, including Architect since 1998 , HMB in 2001 (with Claire Voyant singer Victoria Lloyd), and Destroid since 2004 (with Sebastian Ullmann and Rinaldo Bite). Myer was also a member of the Covenant group from 2007 to 2012 .
The EP Dead Market was released on June 17, 2011. The current Haujobb album New World March was released on November 11, 2011. For the first single Dead Market , a music video was produced in March 2011 - the first in the history of the project - directed by Boris May by Klangstabil .
