Hauke ​​Brettel

Hauke ​​Brettel (* 1970 in Oldenburg ) is a German doctor, legal scientist and criminologist .

Career

Hauke ​​Brettel is the third of four children of forensic doctor Hans-Friedrich Brettel (* 1936), a retired professor at the University of Frankfurt am Main and his wife Hede, née Bruns. His older brother Malte Brettel (* 1967) holds the Chair of Economics at RWTH Aachen University .

After his studies and medical examination Brettel was in 1997 at the University of Frankfurt am Main as a doctor of medicine doctorate . This was followed by a degree in law. After passing the second state examination in law, Brettel worked as a lawyer and employee at Michael Bock 's chair in Mainz . There he received his doctorate in law in 2006 and habilitated in 2010 . Two years as a judge in the Hessian judicial service followed. From October 2012 to September 2015 Brettel was Professor of Criminal Law, Criminology and Medical Law at the Philipps University of Marburg . On October 1, 2015, he became the successor to his criminology teacher Michael Bock at the chair for criminology , juvenile criminal law, the penal system and criminal law at the University of Mainz .

His scientific work focuses on medical and commercial criminal law, antitrust law, and law of measures. In addition, he dealt with the early detection of criminal risk, orienting himself on the method of ideal-typical comparative individual case analysis.
