The main fire station in Mariahilf in Vienna's 6th district is one of the nine main fire stations of the Vienna professional fire brigade .

The listed building with eight garages was built between 1912 and 1914 by the municipal building authority on the site of the former slaughterhouse in Gumpendorf; it was put into service on April 27, 1914. The architect Johann Rothmüller was involved in the planning . The Dehio calls the Heimatstil as an architectural style. The relief decoration is carried out in the manner of the Wiener Werkstätte . The base of the three-story main building is made of natural stone, the upper floor is made of exposed brick. In the corner of the house there is a statue of a fire fighter under a canopy. The hipped roof has a lantern. The two-story wing in which the garages are housed bears relief fields of double eagles, Viennese coats of arms, female figures, putti and so on. Eight round-arched entrance gates are provided for the vehicles, which lead onto the courtyard surrounded by a perforated wall.

During the Second World War , the building was badly damaged in bombing raids on October 17 and November 5, 1944. After the end of the war, the building was repaired as quickly as possible. A general renovation took place between 1994 and 2000. It is known as one of the most beautiful main fire stations in Vienna.

The main fire station in Mariahilf, together with the group guards in Penzing and Weidlingau, forms fire protection section 4. In 2007, 33 emergency services as well as an extinguishing team, a multi-purpose vehicle and the inspection smoke collector from the Viennese professional fire service were stationed here.
