Danijel Kovačič (born July 3, 1987 in Rosenheim ) is a former German - Croatian ice hockey goalkeeper who was active for several years with the Krefeld Penguins in the German Ice Hockey League .

Career

Danijel Kovačič began his career with his hometown club, the Starbulls Rosenheim , where he ran through all junior teams up to the DNL team until 2001 . From the 2005/06 season onwards , the left catcher with a license from DEG Metro Stars for the Starbulls in the major league stood between the posts and acted as a back-up behind Oliver Häusler . For the 2007/08 season , the German-Croatian signed a contract until 2010 with the Krefeld Penguins from the German Ice Hockey League , where he took on the role of the back-up goalie behind the Swiss Reto Pavoni . Kovacic made his DEL debut on September 30, 2007 at the game in Ingolstadt, which Krefeld only lost 4-5 after extra time. From 2008 to 2010 he was given a license for the Landshut Cannibals , for which he played two games in the 2nd ice hockey Bundesliga during this period . In 2012 his contract in Krefeld was terminated.

In the 2012/13 season, Kovačič was under contract with the Löwen Frankfurt before ending his career with TEV Miesbach . He ended his career in June 2015.

International

In 2005 Danijel Kovačič was in the squad of the German national ice hockey team and took part with her in the U18 World Cup in the Czech Republic. There he was voted “Man of the match” in the first group game against Canada and at the end of the tournament one of the three best German players.
