The house 's main square 3, Wiener Neustadt is in Wiener Neustadt on the main square 3 and Brodtischgasse 1. The building is a historical monument ( list entry ).

history

In 1449 the house was named as one of the few houses in Wiener Neustadt with a tile covering of the roof. The building was acquired by the municipality in 1571 and used as a court until 1770 . The house returned to private ownership in 1785. In 1914 it was again owned by the municipality and is partly used by the city administration and partly for commercial and residential uses.

architecture

The corner house, which is essentially Gothic, protrudes from the building line at the main square and offers pedestrians a sloping arcade from the 15th century. In the basement there is a two-bay passage with a mighty ribbed vault and keystones from the 13th century. The facade was redesigned in Baroque style and shows a triangular gable with the city arms.

Above the windows there are eight graffiti, one on the foliage overhang to the house at Hauptplatz 2 and seven on the main facade to historical personalities with reference to the city of the sculptor and painter Hans Vonmetz from 1937, they show Maria Theresia , Leopold V. , Ulrich von from left to right Liechtenstein , Friedrich II. , Friedrich III. , Andreas Baumkircher , Maximilian I. and Leopold Karl von Kollonitsch .
