The commercial building Behrenstrasse 3 and 4 in Berlin was a building in the style of historicism , which was built before 1898 according to plans by the builder A. Sillich. It is not preserved.

history

The house was home to the Deutsche Hypothekenbank Meiningen , a subsidiary of the Mitteldeutsche Creditbank . Until 1890, the bank had its business operations in Behrenstrasse 2, which was owned by the credit bank. After purchasing the neighboring property of 420 m² for a price of 240,000 marks , it had a three-story commercial building built on it, where it opened the banking business on the first floor. In 1893 she also acquired the property at Behrenstrasse No. 4 with a size of 483 m² for 330,000 marks and decided on a new building. In the new building, two shops were opened on the ground floor. The execution was carried out with "great care and good material, sandstone facade , vaulted ceilings, stucco and marble ". The costs of the old building amounted to 280,000 marks, those of the new building with interest losses and procurement of new furniture amounted to 250,000 marks.
