Cesare Barbetti (born September 29, 1930 in Palermo , † September 13, 2006 in Lucca ) was an Italian actor and voice actor .

Life

Barbetti was engaged in film and television roles as a child, but initially devoted the main focus of his work to radio. His distinctive voice made him one of the busiest voice actors in Italy; he loaned them to numerous other US and international stars such as Robert Duvall , Warren Beatty , Bruce Lee , Steve McQueen , Steve Martin , Kevin Kline , Jack Nicholson , William Shatner , Alain Delon and Donald Sutherland .

In 1934 the four year old made his debut as the son of the governor portrayed by Eduardo De Filippo in Il capello a tre punte . By 1943, Barbetti had developed into the most sought-after child actor of his time and already showed considerable talent during these years, for example as a young Mozart in Melodie eterne (1940) or in the sentimental-romantic roles of the war years. After the Second World War, Barbetti concentrated on the theater due to a lack of film offers and acted a.o. a. next to Paola Barbara the devil in Non si dorme a Kirkwall by Alberto Perrini . In 1955/1956 he played in two musical comedies by the author duo Garinei-Giovannini.

At the beginning of the 1970s, Barbetti also found work for television films and as a guest in series; in the following decade, Pupi Avati ensured rediscovery as a movie actor.

In 2002 Barbetti received the VI targa Gualtiero De Angelis for his dubbing work.
