Haus Hainburg is a historic villa in the Hessian community Schlangenbad . It was built in 1876 according to plans by the royal building councilor Edwin Oppler , who came from Hanover . The client was the Jewish banker Albert Cohen from Hamburg , to whose daughter Oppler was married. He chose a hillside location on the northern side of the Upper Kurpark as a location .

As in all of his work, Oppler also used neo-Gothic design elements in this house . He erected a raised three-storey building from red granite , which is closed off by a steep hipped roof. On the south side facing the spa park, he put a pointed gable middle wing and a round corner tower in front of the house. These two elements and the exposed brickwork give the entire building a defensive character.

In 1958 the house was converted into a hotel. Today there are holiday apartments in it.
