The house Roleff is a listed building and is located on the Cologne-Aachener-Strasse 11 in Quad-Ichendorf , one of 15 districts of the county town of Bergheim belong.

Building history & architecture

The photographer Paul Roleff, born on April 15, 1873 in Quadrath as the son of the landlord of the Gasthaus Zur Post , had the two-story building built in 1905 to set up his studio there. It also served him as a house.

Reddish colored bricks were used for the construction of the building . The reddish basic color is complemented by the arched white walls of the windows and by white corner cuboids. The two colors should complement each other in the sense of a harmonious design of the facade of the house and give it an overall relaxed and cheerful character. On the northern and western side, the building of tail gables cased risalits on. In terms of architecture, it is a follow-up to historicism .

Monument description

The monument was entered on July 18, 1995 under no. 195 in the list of architectural monuments in Bergheim . The entry reads:

“Corner house, 2-storey brick building with a beveled corner, inside a rounded arched entrance, hipped roof, ashlar structures, corner blocks; on both sides of the building projections covered by tail gables, windows predominantly arched with ashlar frames, profiled eaves zone, an extension for commercial use on Graf-Otto-Straße; the shape of the house is based on the nearby Schlenderhahn estate. "
