House of the Kaiser of Austria
The "Zum Emperor of Austria" is a listed building ( list entry ) from the Biedermeier period in Währingerstraße 18 / Eckeberg Gasse 1 in the 9th Viennese district of Alsergrund .
history
The pre-March suburban house "Zum Kaiser von Österreich" was built in 1826 by Ignaz Göll next to the former Palais Odescalchi from 1825 (Berggasse 3) and adapted in 1845 by Peter Gerl. The pharmacy zur Austria has been located there since 1869. The mural and the fountain in the garden were designed by the poetic surrealist Helmut Kand .
restoration
In the period 2002/2003 the house "Zum Kaiser von Österreich" was completely renovated, for which the urban renewal company (SEG) received the urban renewal award. In the course of the restoration, loggias were added on the courtyard side.
