The home of the first local manager ( English House of the first Native Commissioner of Kavango ) is a historic administration building in the Namibian town of Rundu in the north of the country.
It has been a Namibian National Monument since December 1st, 2011 .
The building consists of two rooms that were used as offices for recruiting migrant workers for mines in the South African Republic . It also served as the seat of the first local administrator of the Kavango and then as a border crossing between the traditional administrations of the Mbunza and Sambyu .
In modern times it served as the headquarters of the Rundu Leisure Club ( Afrikaans Rundu Ontspannings Klub ).
