The Haus zum Roten Ochsen is a Renaissance building on the Fischmarkt in Erfurt and is considered one of the most beautiful of its kind in Germany.

The building is mentioned for the first time in 1392 and was redesigned in the Renaissance style in 1562 by the woad dealer and chief councilor Jacob Naffzer (approx. 1529–1586) from Erfurt .

On the facade above the first floor there is a frieze depicting the muses and the ancient planetary gods. In the middle you can see the name-giving red ox with golden horns.

On the first floor there is the splendidly furnished Renaissance hall, in which many exhibitions take place. The house is the seat of the Erfurt Art Association .

The building, which was renovated at the time, has been used as an art gallery since 1976 , after it served not only as a residential building but also as a commercial building from the 18th century and a cinema had been installed in it in the first half of the 20th century.
