The national soccer team of the Cuban capital and province of Havana (Spanish: La Habana) plays in the highest Cuban league for the Cuban soccer championship, the Campeonato Nacional de Fútbol de Cuba . Their home games are played at the Estadio Pedro Marrero in the Playa district .
The Havana national team has been Cuban champions six times since 1978.
From 1976 to 2010 the province - and with it the team - carried the official name "Ciudad de La Habana". With the division of the former surrounding province of La Habana into the two newly created provinces Artemisa and Mayabeque , the addition “Ciudad de” in the name of the capital was deleted again.
