Haworthia attenuata is a species of the genus Haworthia in the subfamily of the Affodil family (Asphodeloideae).

Haworthia attenuata grows stemless and sprouts. The narrowed, spreading, lanceolate-triangular leaves form a rosette with a diameter of up to 10 centimeters and a height of up to 13 centimeters. The leaf blade is up to 13 inches long and 1.5 inches wide. The leaf surface is rough. There are clearly raised warts on it that do not flow together.

The loose, sparsely branched inflorescence reaches a length of 24 to 28 centimeters. The upside-down flower tube is curved and the tepals are rolled back.

Systematics and distribution

Haworthia attenuata is widespread in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa.

The first description as Aloe attenuata by Adrian Hardy Haworth was published in 1804. In 1812 he placed the species in the genus Haworthia . There are numerous synonyms .

A distinction is made between the following varieties :

  • Haworthia attenuata var. Attenuata
  • Haworthia attenuata var. Radula (Jacq.) MBBayer
