Haworthia cooperi is a species of the genus Haworthia in the subfamily of the Affodil family (Asphodeloideae).

description

Haworthia cooperi has no trunk and sprouts frequently. The 20 to 40 upright, elongated, lanceolate, rapidly tapering leaves form a rosette with a diameter of up to 12 centimeters. The bluish green, slightly translucent, fleshy leaf blade is swollen. Its tip is pointed or trimmed. The leaf surface usually has reddened veins. Exposed leaves turn purple in color. The marginal thorns , if any, are shorter than 2 millimeters.

The compact, strong inflorescence reaches a length of up to 20 centimeters and consists of 20 to 30 closely spaced white flowers .

Systematics and distribution

Haworthia cooperi is widespread in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa.

The first description by John Gilbert Baker was published in 1871.
